Photoshoot 02 - Experiments
These are the photos I have chosen to manipulate both physically and digitally.

For this edit I removed all the distractions in the background and the night sky. For example, I removed the light posts. This enabled me to create an airy atmosphere with an almost apocalyptic undertone, as the skate park appears lit up however there is no source of light. This also allows the viewer to focus solely on the space and the people rather than any distractions in the background.

For this edit, I selected the background and the grass a nature in the foreground and made them black and white. I did this to isolate the person on the structure showing their connection both emotionally and physically. I then used the blur tool in Photoshop to emphasise the person's movement through the space.

For this image I layered two images together, and then editing the opacity to emphasise movement and motion. This allowed me it's a highlight the people using the structure. I then increase the warmth of the image to create a softer and more homely feeling environment. I simultaneously removed any distractions from the sky to create a solid black block this creates a slightly airy atmosphere as the skate park is lit up with no source of light.

For this edit I selected parts of the image such as the graffiti, the boy and the poles and kept them in colour whilst changing the rest to black and white, I did this to highlight the human intervention and personalization of the space. I then copied and flipped the poles to frame the image. I also edited out distractions in the background to allow the viewer to focus on the graffiti and the person.

I then use the rule of thirds to crop the bottom section of the image. This creates a slightly eerier atmosphere as it highlights the empty space in the sky above.

I then did the inverse, still using the rule of thirds I cropped the sky an included the bottom section of the image. This connects the person with the skate park, allowing the viewer to see their use of the space more clearly.

For this edit I layered two images on top of each other that were taken seconds apart. I tried to line up the structure in the background to focus on the people. This created a ghostlike presence in the image as it appeared that the skateboarder is haunting the space.

For this edit, I selected the graffiti as well as the person in the top left corner and kept them in colour was making the rest of the image and the nature black and white. This allows me to connect the boy with the graffiti showing the human personalization of the structure. By removing the nature from the focal point of the image I was able to emphasise the more human aspects of the image.
