Photoshoot 03 - Emotion

For this photoshoot I focused on capturing the mundane as well as how people intergrade into the world surrounding them.

This image showcases the integration of humans into nature and their surroundings. The contradicting lines in the image create strong geometric shapes which help to show harsh human integration. The extreme contrast between the calm, serene sea and the brutal metal structure create a sense that it shouldn’t be there and was wrongly put there by humans.

This image showcases isolation by the lone person standing on the beach looking out at the sea. The framing of the image by the lines of the structure create a more surrounded and better composed image.

This photo also combines human integration with the world around us. I like the serene silence that this image conveys to the viewer. The harsh lines of the metal structure combined with the soft calm waves creates an interesting image. I really like the left-hand side being in darkness as I creates a sense of unknown.

I took this photo with the idea that I would edit it to create a monochromatic image. I like the leading lines created by the poles as they guide the viewers eyes towards the central structure. The rusty nature of the metal creates a harsh and brutalist undertone to the image which contrasts the soft sky and ocean. I also like the people in the foreground as they add a narrative to the photo and showcase human connection.

This image explores silence, and I think that after the other photos in my shoot this photo helps to convey an uneasy silence. I used the rule of thirds in this image as I placed the lamppost on the third line. I like the warm light that is given out by the image as it cuts through the other colder tones in the image.

This image explores the isolation of an individual as they walk through busy settings. The curved leading lines of the pavement help to create a softness to the image as well as guide the viewer through the photo. The birds create a sense of movement to the image. I plan to edit this photo by removing some of the people to bring more focus to the central man and the woman on the right.

I like this image as I think the commercial red signs create a dynamic and interesting image by capturing the focus of the viewer. The central man is looking into the camera and is therefore connecting with the viewer. The contrast between the man as he is engaged with the camera and the women that is uninterested in her surroundings creates a sense of isolation. The garish shop signs create an image with an overall street life atmosphere capturing people's daily activities.

I chose to take this image as it opens a window into the lives of the people as they do even the most mundane of activities. The bright orange colour of the men's jackets brings the eyes of the viewer to them and they quickly become a focal point of the image. The dirty vehicle creates a harsh undertone to the image.

This image showcases connections and explores people as they go about there day. I like the soft smoke that covers the image creating an eerie yet joyful atmosphere. The metal poles line up with the horizon creating a cohesive image.
