Photoshoot 04 - Careless Society
For this photoshoot I focused on capturing the mundane as well as how people intergrade into the world surrounding them.
Description is bellow the image. Click on image to see it full screen.

I took this photo with the intension of highlighting class division. The positioning of the man on the bottom right third line naturally highlights him as the focal point of the image. The juxtaposition between the advert and the homeless mad highlights our societies need for overconsumption and evokes regret and upset and in viewer. I chose to keep the people on the left in the image in order to show the carelessness of our generation.

For this image I wanted to provoke emotions of despair and distress within the viewer. I think the contrast between the woman on the floor and the two commercial buildings behind her evokes distress in the viewer. The irony between the sale signs and the women begging highlights the separation and division within our society. I plan to crop this image in order to control the narrative and focus the eye on particular parts of the image.

For this photo I took inspiration from William Eckersley and his photography of run down and empty spaces. The silent chaos within this photo provoked a melancholic emotion within the viewer. The absence of people in this image creates an eerie atmosphere as though the space has been abandoned. The lines in the pavement on the floor act as leading lines focusing the viewers eyes towards the tents.

I chose this photo because I liked the composition of it, with the man on the third line which helps make him the natural subject of the image. The curve of the building acting as a leading line bringing the eye round and through the image and creating a well-balanced photo. I like how the burgundy colour that the man is wearing is reflected through the pavement and the road markings in the bottom left corner. This adds cohesion to the image and allowing the focus to be directed to the man.

For this image I used a high shutter speed to capture a crisp photo of the fast-moving bird. For this photo I placed both the bird and the boy on a third line in order to connect the two together. This image provokes emotions of nostalgia and innocence. This contrasts some of the darker and harsh realities of life that I have explored in the rest of my photoshoot 4.

For this image, my aim was to begin to show the progression of people starting to grow up and be face with responsibilities, such as busking for money. I really like the almost symmetrical nature of this image as I think it creates a cohesive background and allows the man to become the natural focal point of the image.

For this photo my aim was to show the loss of emotion and connection in the world around us. As focus on the image is on the man who is alone and is on his phone, isolating him from his surroundings. I like the soft focus of the image that creates a dreamlike quality to the picture. The legs of the man in the top left corner show a lack of care from our society.

In this image I like the lines of the pavement as I think they act as leading lines guiding the viewer into the unknown and hidden parts of the image. I like the two reflected triangles in the top and bottom of the image as they work together to create a cohesive and symmetrical background. I used the rule of thirds to block of the right third of the image and to create some secrecy, allowing the reader to create their own narrative of the image and forcing the viewer to think.

For this image, my aim was to take inspiration from Nick Turpin. The aim of this image was to highlight class divisions through the use of two people in different attire. This contrast suggests an unfair divisions within society. I like how the lines on the pavement and road create leading lines through the image suggesting progression and a journey.
