Photoshoot 03 - Living in construction
For this photoshoot I focused on long exposure to add motion blur in my images.
Description is bellow the image. Click on image to see it full screen.

I chose this photo as I like the contrast of the cold and industrial looking environment with cool and harsh lighting and the warmth of the lights coming from the window in the top left corner. I chose to place this apartment block on the third line intersect to draw the viewers focus towards it. I think this allows the viewer to get a slight understanding and view into the worlds of those who live there.

I took this image to illustrate to the viewer that behind every window there is a different life. I chose to take this image as I like the interesting composition of the windows, as they appear to be divided into a grid like format. The colours in the windows help to emphasise the differences in the people living within them. I plan to use these windows and warp them when editing in order to create a more dramatic effect.

I chose this photo as I like the vibrant and different colours of the separate windows. The idea of this photo was to highlight the differences and separation between us as individuals in our everyday life, even though we may appear close. This photo explores how people choose to live in their homes highlighting the importance of individuals having their own spaces and showing individual personalities through these homes.

This photo is an apartment building at night and it explores the connection between a person and the place that they live. I chose to shoot this building as I think that contrast between the placement of the windows on the left and right creates an interesting and separated composition. I plan to use this photo when editing by increasing the number of windows this will allow me to emphasise my message that behind each and every window there is a different life which we know very little about.

This photo is a hospital at night with only some of its lights on. I took this image as I wanted to explore the idea of a lack of personalization in such a cold and silent place. This photo contrasts the others in my shoot as the windows appeared to have no colour this suggests that the place is where people are staying in hospitals are not comforting and they are unable to personalise them. To emphasise this, I shot with a lower exposure to create a larger contrast between the dark and the light in the image.

To take this photo I aimed myself to get on a similar level to the building enabling me to get a flat on perspective. This allowed me to better capture the windows and the stories behind each one. I slightly lowered my exposure when taking this photo to increase the vibrancy of the colours.

This image shows an apartment block, which I chose to take from a slightly angled perspective in order to highlight the individuality of human life. Through exploring the colours and tones of different windows I think the viewer is able to have an appreciation for the differences between those who live so close together. This image highlights how each person has their own life separate from the one they lead in the day. A home often has connotations of solitude and peace suggesting that one is most themselves when they're in the comfort of their own home.

To take this photo I used long exposure and moved my camera slightly to the left in order to create the blurred effect. I did this to present people living from their homes and then out into the world. To highlight the fact that there is a different life behind each and every window. I also lowered the exposure when taking the photo in order to have a darker building and therefore emphasising the lights in the windows.

I chose this image as I think the interesting and different shapes of the windows create an intrigue into the life of those who inhabit the spaces from the viewer. The darkness of the building contrasted by the bright and warm glow of the windows highlights to the viewer how we all make and design our own homes to provide comfort for us as an individual, suggesting to the viewer the importance of a person living in and being one with a construction.
