Photoshoot 03 - Experiments

These are the photos I have chosen to manipulate both physically and digitally.

For this is experiment I cropped, and perspective warped my chosen photo to create a more straight on profile. I then selected each window slightly altering the colour balance and hue to each one; allowing me to create different coloured windows. This edit emphasised the personalised of the spaces that people live in.

For this edit I selected all of the coloured windows that I had captured and edited them together in photoshop. I ensured that I did not change the colour of the windows to try to keep the authenticity of the windows. These varied colours and shapes show the individuality of the people living in it, emphasising the differences between people. Moreover, the different layout and setting of the windows  highlights the individuality and separation in people's private lives.

For this edit,  I layered and altered the opacity of the image. I did this to emphasise the movement in the image. This edit highlights the idea that people live out of their home, exuding their personality from their home. The varied colours also act as a way to again highlight the individuality of each person living there.

For this edit I copied windows and then perspective warped them, creating a more natural image. To create a separation between the windows I slightly edited the colours and tones in the image. Editing the warmth of the window lights allowed me to highlight the comfort of one's own home.

For this edit I selected a few windows and repeated them to amplify the message of the individuality of our spaces. To further increase this idea of people living in and personalising their spaces I decided to alter the colour and brightness of each window; to do this I used colour filters and colour balance to aim to create a different story behind each window. I also decided to break this pattern up slightly, leaving some windows dark to create a more realistic edit and also to emphasise how people can be absent from their homes.

For this edit I explored creating a stop motion animation to show peoples individual lives through their homes. By turning the lights on and off I am able to highlight the idea that people live their lives through their homes. The varied colours create a personalisation in the piece. I am going to work on this idea of creating a video for my final piece.
